Who We Are
The
purpose of the
Advanced Digital Institute
is to stimulate
commercial research and business innovation through
direct, hands-on collaborative engagement, adding value
by providing advanced research and development support
for new technologies. ADI works across a broad front in
the high technology sector and with enterprises of all
sizes. We provide technical and business support aimed
at identifying technology enabled opportunities and
ensuring that those opportunities are understood,
developed and exploited.
ADI is a not for
profit research and development institute incorporated
in October 2005 and based in the Aire valley in
West Yorkshire. We are an ambitious company
staffed with highly qualified, experienced engineers and
researchers. We have an aggressively forward looking and
independent board of directors selected from business
and academia and importantly, we are an independent
company, able to engage with partners employing a
variety of innovative and non-invasive collaboration
models.
ADI works with companies to identify and develop
technology-centric opportunities. These opportunities
may be enabled by intellectual property which already
exists in a company’s portfolio, by IP that needs to be
identified and developed or by IP exploited by
synergistic combination with other technologies. ADI
also works with universities to strategically mobilize
valuable R&D resource adding further value to the
research and development effort. Exploitation of
university based IP is another potentially valuable
avenue for commercially exciting activity. ADI has
strong links with several nationally recognized
university departments.
Successful economies need a strong and ever expanding
knowledge base enabling companies to drive innovation
with the latest and most advanced technical expertise,
market intelligence and business knowledge. ADI plays an
important role in this process, delivering to our
collaboration partners a substantial increase in the
effectiveness of their Research and Development.
