Saltaire Technology Cluster Hosts Fact Finding Mission
Helping to truly put the Saltaire technology cluster on the world map, November 14th saw 21 members of the Department for International Trade overseas staff visit the area on a fact finding mission organised by Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
The delegation, which is visiting the UK for just one week, is made up of trade and investment advisors from across the globe and tasked with identifying inward investment opportunities from their respective markets.
During the visit to Saltaire the group were given guided tours of ARRIS and Radio Design, and visited Salts Mill for a networking opportunity with key members of staff from Advanced Digital Innovation, Teledyne and CIMlogic.
Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership commented; “I’m delighted that we were able to organise this visit from the Department for International Trade’s overseas staff and highlight to them the strength of Saltaire and the wider City Region within the digital and technology sectors. I look forward to working further with the Department in order to secure new trade and investment opportunities which will deliver good growth not only for the region but also UK plc and make our City Region a global digital centre.”
Encouraged by the success of the visit, John Eaglesham CEO of Advanced Digital Innovation said ‘Saltaire hosts a strong network of companies with world-class skills and capabilities. This trade visit has given us a fantastic opportunity to showcase how businesses in this region can effectively serve both UK and overseas markets.’
